Chapter 2 INSTALLATION

NOTE

The following considerations should always be taken into

account when performing any physical system changes such as

Installation, Reinstallation, or Configuration:

a. Never make or break electrical connections while power is

applied. Making or breaking electrical connections, with

power applied, can generate power transients which are

harmful to internal circuit components.

b. Never make or break serial or parallel cable connections

while power is applied to the systems. Interface circuits are

easily damaged under these conditions.

2.2 HARDWARE INSPECTION

Inspect the hardware to verify the condition of the materials received.

An external and internal inspection can be carried out as discussed in

the following sections.

2.2.1 External Inspection

An external visual inspection of the shipment is recommended prior

to opening any of the containers. The following should be checked:

• All containers received per bill of lading

• All containers free of obvious damage

If there is any visible damage, please immediately notify the Carrier

or Shipper.
