5. Getting started

5.1 Turning the unit on and measuring

Turn the instrument on by pressing the operate

button.

Iftheoperatebuttonisdepressedwhileswitching

theuniton,areferencetothermwareappears

alongwiththedateofthelastcertication.

The unit then switches to the last measurement

mode to be selected.

Ifnomeasurementmodehasbeenpreviously

selected,themainmenuappears.Fortherst

steps,selectMEMORYunderthe“Measure”menu.

To perform a measurement, press and hold the

operate button.

Move the instrument evenly and slowly from the

right to the left over the sample surface.

During the measurement, the following information

appears in the display:

The upper bar shows the progress of the

measurement, while the arrow shows the scan

direction. The two lower bars provide information

about the status of the memory and battery

capacity.
